I apologize in advance that this isn’t very Christmassy but I just couldn’t get over it! I just love the fruit that you can get here in Cali…even in the dead of “winter.” This grapefruit could be breakfast for a family of 4!!

He's baaaaaaaaack!

Genghis is back! Genghis is back! After being gone a week and a half he has made it home, thanks to Mom! Yesterday a neighbor, who lives a few blocks away saw our lost cat sign and called. He said he had been periodically feeding Genghis and thought he had been sleeping under his house. I immediately sent mom over (perfect timing that she is out here) to take a look. She found him by calling him and following his meows. He is now home safe and sound thanks to the good Lord. Now he is super clingy and follows us around everywhere just purring and purring. It was great to fall asleep snuggling with him. This is 1 more I can add to my long list of everything I am thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!

My mom is town this week for the holiday and I LOVE having her here with us. We are always completely spoiled by her during her visits. Her very first day here in Cali she wants to help paint. We keep assuring her that we were planning on doing it after the holidays and wanted her to relax. NOPE! This is a woman full of energy and always ready to go. With three people is went surprisingly fast.

Living Room makeover

Our living room has been in desperate need of a makeover a long time now! With both of us working long hours and gone most weekends, it has always been pushed to the back burner. Thanks to Mrs. Rogue my FABLOUS neighbor all this is about to change.

Mrs. Rouge has been my saving grace a million and one times and I am so blessed to have such a special neighbor. She has been so patient and understanding with me and our developing friendship. We are almost exact opposites and we love each other for it. She is Martha Setwart’s clone and everything from her house to clothing is completely immaculate (think Bree from Desperate Housewives). As opposed to me where my husband is over the moon when I put a pizza in the oven for dinner and well….. laundry and house cleaning tends to always have to wait (Susan from Desperate Housewives).

For the past month or so Mrs. Rouge has been helping me re-decorate the entire living room. I am SLOWLY learning about accent colors, shade and hues and it has been a lot of fun. Saturday we set off to buy paint, house plants and room décor; she in her stiletto heels and me in my sneakers.

LOST

It has been exactly 1 week and 1 day that our kitty Genghis has been missing and I am absolutely devastated. Caleb and I have called all the shelters, put out posters and walked the neighborhood every night with no luck. Caleb is horrified that I make him walk with me around the neighborhood shaking a food bowl and yelling “here kitty, kitty.” I supposed we do look like the village idiots but when you love something this much it doesn’t seem to matter.

I just pray that he is in someone house getting lots of food and love rather than lost or hurt. Hopefully, this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach will subside at some point. I keep praying that he still may find his way home.

Oldies but Goodies

Today is Katie and Ashley’s birthday!! I won’t say which birthday it is for them because it is no longer appropriate but let’s just say they are now oldies but goodies! LOL! I am just kidding.

Happy Birthday to the coolest twins I know! I love you both with all my heart and cherish that you are not only my sisters but also my best friends. I have always looked up to both of you and feel so lucky that God has blessed me with such amazing sisters. Happy Birthday girls!
