WE DID IT!!! This Saturday Caleb and I had an awesome race in Huntington Beach. The 8 K was not that bad…it wasn’t that great during it.. but not that bad either (now that it is over).

It was a really fun bonding experience for the both of us and I enjoyed feeling the old rush of crossing the finish line.



Hey, NO ONE looks pretty after running a 5 mile race ok? Well, except hubby he seams to always look good.

LALA Land

I have heard Los Angeles referred to as LALA Land and it never really clicked…...until this morning.

The oddest thing caught my attention this morning while I was leaving our house for work. I was driving out of our neighborhood and notice a man standing outside of his car with a tow truck behind it. Not an odd sight here in Cali, but I was just looking to see if I recognized him as one of my neighbors and could offer him a ride.

As I drove by the oddest scene unfolded. The man is standing outside of his car talking on his cell phone while his flat tire is being changed. I soon see who is changing the tire for this helpless man. It is a tiny cute blond WOMAN changing it for him. YOU GO GIRL but what is wrong with this man?

I am so proud of this woman changing the tire but seriously what is wrong with the men in this state? In Colorado men are MEN! They know how to change their own tires and if they didn’t they would be damn sure they were watching and learning from this AAA rep so they would not have to repeat the embarrassment twice. Nope men is LALA Land just don’t get it and stand there all prissy.

Running again

We have signed up for the 5 mile run next month. I am really excited about it and I am actually looking forward to it. I really haven’t done major running since cross country in high school, so it could be interesting. It will be good for me to get my butt in gear and start running again.

Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave and it is just miserable! I think we are one of the few houses in southern California that does not have air conditioning. Placing fans in the windows has helped A LOT and is making is a bit more tolerable at night. However, some are benefiting from the fans more than others……….

The Starboard Group

I am just beaming with pride for my eldest sister Katie!! Being the Bold, Brave, and Brilliant person she is; she has started her own company! The Starboard Group is well on its way to success due to the hard work and determination of Katie and her business partner Kristin. I can already see that the sky is the limit for these two and this business.

They have headed up and managed everything from large campaigns for clients such as Congressman Mike Coffman (Colorado) to non-profit events like Food Bank of the Rockies. This is extremely impressive in my book! I am so proud of you Katie!!

The drive to work

Me: “Can we stop at Starbucks on the way to work?”
Caleb: “NO WAY!”
Me: “Why not?” (I am ready for the usual response from him, it is expensive and/or it’s out of the way)
Caleb: “Because they make you say really stupid stuff”
Me: “What the heck are you talking about?” (Thrown off my game at this point)
Caleb: “They make you say stupid stuff like: Iced caramel Macchiato, upside down with whip, and it really annoys me!”
Me: “WHAT?” (Laughing at this point)
Caleb: “If you want to go to a place that allows you to ask for a cold caramel coffee, stirred up with whip cream on top of it; then we can go there!”
Me: “Just take me to work” "sniff, sniff"

They do exist!

I finally have a picture of the happy couple from the engagement party. Congrats James and Ash! We can’t wait for the wedding.
